Perhaps the stimulus is doing just that

January 10, 2010

BEXAR COUNTY (San Antonio Business Journal) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has distributed over $16 million of stimulus funding in direct or guaranteed loans to rural homeowners in the outlying areas of Bexar County.

The USDA Rural Development program has backed 120 single-family home loans in the area throughout the economic downturn. Down payments are not required, and borrowers must have sufficient income to repay the loan.

The funding has also created or saved about 200 jobs.

      Hola Me

In San Jose we’ve seen the bottom and values have strengthened some.

My girlfriend in Fresno says she’s in the epicenter of the next wave. Not sure about that.

In Dallas, the markets on the edge of growth were the most susceptible to investor speculation and declining demand/values once the cheap investor monies dried up.

Every market has their weakness. It’s our job as investors to take a clear picture of those weaknesses – mitigate them – and turn them into cash-ola.

That’s what makes so much opportunity in todays market.

I like the line attributed to Buffet; “Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful”
